THE AREA
______
The Garage is situated in Marston St Lawrence, an idyllic little South Northamptonshire village with a beautiful church and a village hall. It is brilliantly located, with heaps of lovely things to do nearby.
You can go designer shopping at Bicester Village, visit the spa town of Leamington Spa, feast your eyes on the dreaming spires of Oxford, venture into the Cotswolds, or catch a play at Stratford upon Avon -- all of which are only around 30 minutes' drive away. The British Grand Prix at Silverstone is also 20 minutes away, while Blenheim Palace is not far, and there are several other notable country houses nearby including Canon's Ashby, Compton Verney, Upton House and Sulgrave Manor. You can even take in a gliding lesson at Hinton airfield, or visit the classic car museum at Gaydon.
The area is also well furnished with excellent gastropubs, including The Red Lion at Culworth, The White Horse at King's Sutton, and The Fox at Farthinghoe. It is always wise to book ahead for dinner, and Belinda and George, the hosts of The Garage, will happily arrange this for you.
